Stelios Vernardos is a Civil Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he also earned an MSc and is currently completing his PhD at the School of Civil Engineering, focusing on the design of innovative wind turbine towers. His research has been recognized with the IKY–Siemens Excellence Scholarship and published in scientific journals and international conference proceedings. Since 2014, he has been actively involved in research projects at NTUA’s Metal Structures Laboratory, gaining experience in both technical and project management aspects.
Alongside his research activity, Stelios has a strong interest in technology transfer and innovation. In 2018, he co-founded a startup company related to his field of expertise, and since 2022 he has been a member of the NTUA Technology Transfer Office team, supporting initiatives related to intellectual property management, spin-off creation, and the commercialization of research results. He has also completed specialized training programs in technology transfer and knowledge valorization in Greece and abroad, including courses by internationally recognized organizations such as ASTP.
